Excessive sweating is a common condition in both males and females. It can often result in embarrassing situations and limit certain clothing choices.
It is often brought on by stress and can result in loss of self-confidence. Many patients are embarrassed about the condition and are unaware that there is treatment available.
The treatment involves applying topical anaesthetic cream to numb the area. Thereafter we inject small amounts of Botox into the skin of the affected area (armpit, palms of hands, soles of feet).
The Botox inhibits the secretion of sweat from the sweat glands in the affected area. It does not affect any other function in that area.
Anyone with a history of excessive sweating is potentially suitable.
